Asian Art Museum Hails All Things K-Pop at Elegant Annual Benefit

On October 24, the Asian Art Museum welcomed supporters to its annual gala, this year celebrated with the theme of the “Hallyu! Nights Gala.” “Hallyu” means the Korean Wave, and the momentous Korean Wave exhibition celebrates all aspects of South Korean art and design.

To help celebrate the gala and the new exhibition, a roster of Asian cultural luminaries were on the scene, including Chris Pang (Crazy Rich Asians), Yul Kwon (Survivor) and K-Pop stars Eric Nam and Roy Kim, with Kim performing an acoustic set during dinner. The dinner itself had the elegant spread of Korean-inspired cuisine served up alongside K-pop DJs, dancing and interactive art activations. This multi-party format opened the door for new partygoers, inviting more people to join the festivities and creating an evening for all, with over 900 guests stopping in throughout the night. The exhibit “Hallyu! The Korean Wave” is on view at the Asian Art Museum through January 6, 2025.
