The Representation Project’s 2024 Flip the Script Gala Shines

Jennifer Siebel Newsom, filmmaker and founder of The Representation Project (TRP), hosted the eighth annual Flip the Script gala in support of the organization’s mission to advance gender justice. The November 15 event featured an exclusive look at the teaser for Siebel Newsom’s forthcoming film, Miss Representation: The Revolution, a follow-up to the groundbreaking 2011 documentary Miss Representation. As part of the evening’s events, Siebel Newsom and Youth Advisory Council members honored Roselyne C. Swig and Dr. Caroline Heldman with TRP’s Founders Award, and also presented Adama Iwu, Dr. Jackson Katz and Dolores Huerta with Courage Awards.

Attendees were also treated to performances by Bay Area jazz legend singer Paula West and live-performance artist David Garibaldi. The program featured additional remarks from TRP Board Co-Chair Brenda Robinson, who highlighted the importance of The Representation Project’s youth curriculum and gender justice work today. In the past decade, TRP has launched national conversations that have reached millions. Funds raised will benefit TRP’s gender justice initiatives.
