Art Lovers Celebrate at SFMOMA’s Rolicking 2024 Art Bash

On April 24, SFMOMA wowed supporters with its signature annual blowout party: Art Bash. Running from 5 p.m.-1 a.m. and encompassing multiple events, Art Bash offers a singular night at the museum where art enthusiasts can party and raise funds for SFMOMA’s education and family programs and community engagement events.

This year’s party got started with a 5 p.m. cocktail reception followed by an immersive “dinner experience” designed by filmmaker Isaac Julien. Starting from 8 p.m. a multidisciplinary installation by Bay Area artist Richard Misrach was open to experience in a lounge area. Guests were then led by dancers from Alonzo King LINES Ballet to the Premium Party Lounge for a performance.

That was just the beginning of the evening’s multimedia experience, which included work from artist Chelsea Ryoko Wong. Guests danced to music by DJ Alex Shen and Bay Area DJ crew Sazon Libre, while sipping craft cocktails from the team at The Mushroom. Revelers were also free to enjoy artworks on view in more than a dozen exhibitions throughout the museum. The funds raised at Art Bash will ensure that SFMOMA’s extraordinary art and events can be made more accessible for all.
