Solaire Terrasse Pops Up at The Ritz-Carlton San Francisco

Due to overwhelming popular demand, The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco, has reopened its festive Solaire Terrasse, in collaboration with Veuve Clicquot. Open through October 1, from 1-6 p.m., the venue is located in the hotel’s expansive Courtyard Terrace, overlooking the iconic city skyline. This year’s Solaire Terrasse features new food and beverage programming, including the Madame Clicquot Afternoon Tea, as well as luxurious dog pastries from local dog boutique, MISHKA.

“We are thrilled to bring a touch of luxury and optimism to guests through our collaboration at the Solaire Terrasse,” said The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco general manager Stephen Power.  “Veuve Clicquot Champagnes perfectly complement the exquisite menu offerings and serene ambiance of the Courtyard, creating an unforgettable experience for all who visit.”

French inspired Solaire Terrasse features seaside influences.

Solaire Terrasse offers a tranquil, urban atmosphere accented with yellow and white umbrellas, plush furnishings, French-inspired café tables, and oversized games such as Jenga and corn hole. Guests can enjoy a selection of Veuve Clicquot Champagnes (Yellow Label, Rosé, and La Grande Dame) by-the-glass or bottle, while surrounded by roses and a chef’s herb garden. Assorted Veuve Clicquot Rich champagne cocktails, infused with garden herbs, are also offered. These beverage options can be paired with an elevated menu that includes:

Seafood Tower for Two ($195, exclusive of tax and gratuity) – 6 jumbo Gulf Prawns, 3 Alaskan King Crab Legs, 1⁄2 Dozen Beausoleil Oysters, 2 Maine Lobster Tails; Served on crushed ice with cocktail sauce, house hot sauce, fresh lemon Marie Rose sauce, and mignonette.

The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco Signature Caviar Service ($175, exclusive of tax and gratuity) – 1 oz of private label Imperial Osetra Caviar served with traditional accompaniments, potato chips and toast points.

Cheese and Charcuterie Board ($55, exclusive of tax and gratuity) – House-made preserves, grilled sourdough, Dijon mustard, cornichons, and Marcona almonds.

Bread Service (complimentary) – An assortment of fresh Acme Bakery bread, cultured butter, extra virgin olive oil.

Gelato Festival Cart ($8 per scoop, exclusive of tax and gratuity) – The Gelato Festival Cart serves World Master-winning gelatos from around the world from the prestigious gelato tournament held in more than 22 countries for more than a decade.

NEW Madame Clicquot Afternoon Tea ($110, exclusive of tax and gratuity) – Only offered on the last Sunday of each month, The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco presents a luxurious afternoon tea offering a delicious assortment of tea sandwiches.

NEW MISHKA Dog Cakes – Well-behaved pups can treat themselves to a lavish arrangement of 100% all-natural dog cakes made from local pet-pastry shop MISHKA that can be pre-ordered with customized pricing.

The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco will also show its support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October) with a pink-lit hotel exterior and by featuring pink-inspired desserts and cocktails in their newest afternoon tea menu, Madame Clicquot Pink Afternoon Tea ($135 per guest), to giving back 10% of the proceeds from the sales of the afternoon tea and select cocktails and desserts from The Lounge to the Bay Area Cancer Connections.

Starting October 1st and available every Sunday in October, guests can enjoy the following pink-infused food and beverage items from the Madame Clicquot Pink Afternoon Tea located in The Courtyard

  •  Honey & Rose Financier with almond tea cake and rosewater glaze
  •  Chocolate Bouchon with valhrona gateau and hazelnut crème
  •  Locally Farmed Fruit Tart with French Vanilla cream and strawberry shortbread crust
  •  Raspberry Cream Horn with raspberry crèmeux and golden cocoa nibs

For those desiring a cocktail or bubbly to pair, a special cocktail called Madame Clicquot Royale, made with Chambord and Veuve Clicquot Rosé, will be featured. Guests can also take advantage of a limited-time price of the Veuve Clicquot Rosé bottle of $150.

The Lounge will also serve a special dessert called Think Pink (Vanilla Cake with strawberry filling, white chocolate crumble, strawberry sauce, and fresh berries) and a special reddish pink-cocktail called the Karl, inspired by the famous fog around the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.
