ZooFest 2023, San Francisco Zoological Society’s annual fundraising gala, featured the theme “Soar with Us” to celebrate the successful recovery of the bald eagle in high style on Friday, April 21, 2023. Nearly 400 guests descended on SF Zoo on an unusually warm Spring day, adding to the pleasurable reception featuring an appearance by Sequoia, the famed bald eagle ambassador. The main event took place in the elegantly decorated ZooFest tent with catering by McCalls, a spectacular live auction and an epic live performance by the Illeagles, the premier Eagles tribute band. ZooFest Chairs were San Francisco Zoological Society Board Chair Edward Poole and his wife Lynn Poole, and the evening honored Emeritus Board Member Christian Valentine and the Valentine Family.
