On February 12, after a six-month closure for renovation, Izzy’s Steaks & Chops threw open its doors to welcome hungry diners back to its fabulously refreshed dining and lounge space. A cornerstone of the San Francisco dining scene for nearly 40 years, the redesign of Izzy’s flagship pays tribute to the restaurant’s storied legacy. After a meticulous historic restoration and renovation, Izzy’s is ready for its next chapter with a look and feel that honors the rich history of San Francisco and the restaurant’s own legacy.
Izzy’s menu got a little refresh of its own, and now offers updated, inventive preparations of comforting steakhouse classics, like smoked salmon dip and prime rib ravioli. Conceived by Chef Daniel Lucero, Izzy’s dynamic menu celebrates San Francisco’s rich cultural heritage. If you’re interested in just grabbing drinks with friends, the cocktail menu will tempt you with seasonal selections like the Point Blank made with mezcal, blanca tequila, white creme de cacao, genepy des alpes and orange bitters. Said Izzy’s second-generation owner Samantha DuVall Bechtel, “With this renovation, we’re not just refreshing the space—we’re elevating every detail to meet the standards of today’s diner while staying true to the heart and soul of Izzy’s.”
