California College of the Arts (CCA) held their annual gala on March 21st to rally their supporters to the vital cause of art education. Organized by co-chairs Stanlee Gatti and Kimberlee Swig, the night paid tribute to the college’s longtime advocate and supporter, CCA trustee Jack Wadsworth. The gala also honored Stephen Beal and his transformative leadership during his 25 year tenure as provost and president at CCA.
San Francisco Mayor London Breed joined in the festivities, along with notable leaders from major art organizations such as Deborah Cullinan, Vice President for the Arts at Stanford University; Monetta White, Executive Director and CEO of MoAD; and Christopher Bedford, Director of SFMOMA.
This year’s event raised over $1.24 million for student scholarships. Eighty-three percent of CCA students receive some form of scholarship or financial aid. The college firmly believes that financial barriers should never prevent any talented, committed student from pursuing their passion for art.
