Black 2 San Francisco Closing Reception

The energy was high in City Hall – North Light Court at the Black 2 San Francisco Closing Reception on Friday, February 2, 2024, as more than 150 attendees came together to celebrate local alumni of Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Divine Nine fraternity and sorority members.  The event served as the capstone celebration of the City’s launch of the B2SF initiative, an effort to bring HBCU programming and engagement to San Francisco.

Select vintages from P. Harrell Wines were enjoyed along with gourmet bites from Red Door Catering, while D Sharp, official DJ of the Golden State Warriors, kept the party going.  San Francisco Mayor London N. Breed welcomed those gathered, a group that included civic and community leaders, philanthropy partners, higher education administrators, and friends.  Mayor Breed proclaimed it D-Nice Day in San Francisco, to honor the evening’s surprise guest performer: the singular artist, philanthropist, and DJ Derrick “D-Nice” Jones!  The hip hop legend kept the party going with a special set as attendees mixed, mingled, and danced into the evening.
