Crafting Radicality: Bay Area Artists from the Svane Gift
An opening night reception at the de Young Museum took place on July 20th, 2023. Crafting Radicality: Bay Area Artists from the Svane Gift launched a series of exhibitions drawn from the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco’s unprecedented Svane Family Foundation acquisition. In 2022, the Svane acquisition brought 42 artworks by 30 emerging and mid-career Bay Area artists and collectives into the Museums’ permanent collection. Demetri Broxton, Angela Hennessy, Koak, Christiane Lyons, Ramekon O’Arwisters, Muzae Sesay, Rupy Tut, were the artists who attended and celebrated the opening.
