Headlands Center for the Arts, a multi-disciplinary, international arts center in the Marin Headlands, held its annual Benefit Art Auction at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture’s Festival Pavilion in San Francisco on Tuesday, June 6, 2023. The fundraiser raised $800,000 in support of programs for artists and the public.
Event highlights included the interactive installation and sculpture Lucille Valentine and the Supply Chain Issues by Josh Short; an iteration of the intimate, socially engaged performance The Welcoming by Erica Chong Shuch and For You collaborators Rowena Richie and Ryan Tacata; a performance by legendary jazz guitarist Jeff Parker; and a rousing paddle raise led by Headlands Executive Director Mari Robles and accompanied by artists Arleene Correa Valencia and Lava Thomas that garnered $138,850 in support of Headlands programs.
