Lighting, furniture, and décor retailer Lumens marked a historic milestone on September 25 with the grand opening of its first physical space, the Lumens Design Gallery in San Francisco’s Jackson Square, after two decades of exclusively online operations. Lumens executives Cristina Miller and Dana Gers welcomed local tastemakers to the Battery Street location, where award-winning New York interior designer Ghislaine Viñas created a conceptual Designer-in-Residence installation featuring a whimsical palette of yellow, mustard, pink, red and burgundy that captivated guests as they entered the curated space.
The celebration drew VIPs from San Francisco’s design community including acclaimed interior designers Tineke Triggs and Katie Monkhouse, Berggruen Gallery Director Melanie Ross, Jessica Silverman Gallery Director Francesco Dama and interior design influencer Eric Wang, for an evening showcasing immersive vignettes featuring pieces from Lumens’ vast product assortment. Componere’s sophisticated catering featured standout canapés including seared filet mignon with black truffle tuile, ahi tuna poke in nori cones and yuzu glazed chicken tsukune, while cocktails and champagne flowed throughout the evening. The gallery represents Lumens’ evolution from North America’s premier online destination for modern lighting, furniture and décor, into a physical manifestation of their vision to inspire and connect the world through good design.
