The scene at Bouchaine Vineyards on Sunday, March 30 was idyllic. Against a backdrop of budding vines in Napa Valley’s Carneros district and under radiant spring skies, Festival Napa Valley’s Olivia Decker Power of Music concert enchanted a sold-out crowd gathered in support of wildfire relief in Southern California. The performers were Los Angeles-based MusiKaravan, a trio known for their passionate, genre-crossing interpretations.
Guests were welcomed at Bouchaine’s striking new Visitor Center, an architecturally sleek space with panoramic vineyard views. Inside, white orchids and a cozy fire created a warm, elegant atmosphere.
Attendees enjoyed a curated tasting of Bouchaine wines, including Sparkling Rosé, Estate Chardonnay Reserve, Estate Riesling, Calera Clone Estate Pinot Noir, and Estate Syrah.
Among the guests were Olivia Decker, Elizabeth Fowler and Gary Sumers, Amy Ko, Karen Cheriss, Kathleen Wicoff, William Metzger, Jalena Bingham, Michael McKeever, Diana Bersohn, and Bouchaine’s director of direct-to-consumer sales, Juli Barron.
As the audience settled into their seats, MusiKaravan—violinists Étienne Gara and Yu Eun Kim and cellist Stella Cho—took center stage with infectious energy. Their dynamic program ranged from Brahms’ “Hungarian Dances” to Korean and Brazilian pop hits and even Charlie Chaplin’s Smile.
The musicians interwove performances with delightful stories from their travels—including a whimsical set played for a group of curious ostriches—creating a joyful and engaging connection with the audience.
Festival Napa Valley embraces music’s power to heal and unite, and this event was a stirring example. Proceeds benefit key organizations supporting wildfire relief efforts in Southern California, including MusiCares, World Central Kitchen, and Direct Relief.
As the final notes faded, one thing was clear: this was more than a concert. It was a shared moment of joy, reflection, and hope—a celebration of music’s enduring ability to bring people together and uplift communities in need.
