Oak Knoll Suite at Meritage Resort & Spa in Napa

Now is one of the best times of year to visit Napa Valley, as the weather warms up (but not too warm) and grape vines come into bloom. A popular place to stay in the city of Napa is the Meritage Resort & Spa, which offers a variety of activities for all interests. Simply put, it’s a destination where tranquility meets adventure.

The resort is immersed in vineyards and provides easy access to lovely wineries like Palmaz, Domaine Carneros, Bouchaine, Artesa and many more. Add in the restaurants, tasting room, boutiques and other amentities on the Meritage Resort property and you have a wonderful retreat.

One of the highlights at the Meritage is its newly renovated rooms, especially the suites. The Oak Knoll suite, in particular, blend spaciousness with style against Napa Valley’s iconic backdrop.

Enjoying Oak Knoll

At 925 square feet, the suite features a kitchen with a full-sized refrigerator, stove, oven and a table that seats five. Stock this inviting space with fresh ingredients sourced from nearby farmers’ markets and gourmet shops peppered throughout the Napa Valley.

Designed with comfort in mind, the large living area is one of the standout features of the Oak Knoll suite. It’s the perfect place to rest between dining and wine tasting. Kick back on the couch with a glass of wine and watch tv on their large flat screen or enjoy the vineyard view just steps away.

The big bedroom has a work area, dresser and lots of natural light. Again, the vineyard view plays an instrumental role in setting the tone for this room’s ambiance. The picturesque landscape outside your window becomes part of your décor by default; it’s like having living art that changes with the seasons. There’s also a lovely balcony with a nice view of the surrounding vineyards.

Among the various spaces within the Oak Knoll Suite, the bathroom often remains underestimated in its potential to offer relaxation and luxury. However, with thoughtful design choices like a large soaking tub, this bathroom can transform into a serene sanctuary that enhances your stay.

Food and Drink

Just a short walk from your room is my favorite restaurant on property, the Ember Steak House. Ember features dry-aged beef from Northern California farms. Enjoy a prime tomahawk ribeye or porterhouse. The restaurant also offers sushi rolls, a roasted salmon steak and a daily catch. Enjoy locally sourced dishes in a luxurious setting.

Another highlight at the resort is Crush Lounge – a sports bar where you can actually play a sport: bowling. The recently renovated lounge is a great place to enjoy a craft cocktail and take to the lanes.

For more get-it-and-go fare, check out Fivetown Grocery, Meritage resort’s upscale market and foodery. Grab a breakfast burrito, sandwich or your favorite coffee concoction.

Spring is in the Air

It’s not just the vines that come alive in spring and summer, Napa itself is vibrant. Take advantage of the family friendly fun and games on the village lawn, concerts and other great events. You will never run out of things to do.
