Peninsula Volunteers, Inc. (PVI) transformed Saratoga’s Villa Montalvo for an evening of musical nostalgia on September 12 with “A Benefit with Ballads and Bubbles,” featuring the legendary The Righteous Brothers Bill Medley and Bucky Heard. The famed duo performed timeless hits including “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin'” and “Unchained Melody” for a dazzled crowd. PVI CEO Peter Olson joined guests for an intimate fundraiser that began with champagne cocktails on the veranda, where treasure-hunting partygoers searched for a 1-carat diamond courtesy of Gleim the Jeweler, which was hidden in a glass of champagne. Guests then transitioned to an elegant seated dinner, catered by Melons, in the gorgeously adorned outdoor setting designed by Chandon Jones Design.
The evening’s most compelling moment came through healthcare provider Pawan Galhotra’s heartfelt testimony about his mother Shanti, whose decade-long journey with PVI services illustrated the organization’s vital continuum of care as seniors’ needs evolve. Galhotra’s personal account of Shanti’s transition from Little House, The Roslyn G. Morris Activity Center to Adult Day Services at Rosener House demonstrated how PVI enables seniors to age in place with dignity and specialized support. The night’s spirited live auction featured extraordinary experiences including a five-star African safari from Natural Migrations, a stay at a private Croatian villa and an invitation-only evening at Opus One Winery. This year’s benefit was a tremendous success, with the generous support from sponsors including Jeanne and Frank Fischer, Sutter Health, Connie and Bob Lurie, and Capital Group helping to fund PVI’s comprehensive services from Meals on Wheels to transportation and caregiver support programs.
