The League to Save Lake Tahoe’s 56th annual benefit fashion show reached new heights on August 9, raising $1.4 million through the global launch of Oscar de la Renta’s Pre-Spring 2026 collection at the Schumacher family estate on Lake Tahoe’s pristine shoreline. Co-Creative Directors Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia presented their latest designs in a show that has evolved dramatically since it premiered in 1969, when models walked barefoot down a plywood runway, showcasing Bill Blass creations to 100 guests enjoying box picnic lunches with a dazzling view of the lake.
The sophisticated lakeside celebration brought together fashion luminaries and environmental advocates, with Oscar de la Renta Executive Vice President Eliza Bolen joining event producer J. Riccardo Benavides and committee members Barbara Brown, Heidi Cary, Jessica Hickingbotham, Lindsay McConnon, Jennifer Brandenburg and Jane Mudge for an afternoon that perfectly married haute couture and conservation. Guests enjoyed a VIP cocktail party hosted by Team Blair Tahoe Real Estate, while Aston Martin Las Vegas displayed vehicles and offered test drives from the nearby Ritz-Carlton. The elegant festivities included a Christie’s live auction and exclusive limited-edition Jenni Kayne sweaters, with 100% of sales supporting the League’s mission. This remarkable fundraising success brings the event’s total impact to over $28.4 million, powering the League’s 68-year mission to keep Tahoe blue through science-driven conservation efforts.
