Episcopal Community Services’ Annual CHEFS Gala Held in San Francisco

On May 10 Episcopal Community Services (ECS) hosted its 2025 annual CHEFS Gala at Bimbo’s 365 Club on Columbus Avenue. This year’s CHEFS (Conquering Homelessness Through Employment in Food Services) Gala celebrated 42 years of community-driven impact, recognizing ECS’ deep and ongoing commitment to helping people permanently exit homelessness through innovative and holistic solutions.

Guests dined on a short rib dinner from McCalls Catering & Events, accompanied by appetizers and dessert supplied by workers in the CHEFS catering. Partygoers also had fun in the on-site photo booths provided by Creativelei, backed by music from Caliber DJs. The party featured some very special guest speakers including Bishop Austin Rios of the Episcopal Diocese of California. This year, ECS also honored David and Maggie Cooke with the inaugural Social Impact Award, which recognizes exceptional individuals whose work exemplifies ECS’s mission. Episcopal Community Services has provided essential services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness in San Francisco since 1983.
