On June 2 more than 500 art and flower enthusiasts gathered at the de Young museum for the Opening Night celebration of Bouquets to Art, one of San Francisco’s most vibrant and anticipated annual fundraisers. Now in its 41st year, the week-long event expanded for the first time in its history to include installations at both the de Young and the Legion of Honor, transforming the permanent-collection galleries of both museums with fresh, imaginative floral interpretations by over 100 floral designers.
The evening raised a record-breaking $500,000 in support of exhibitions, education initiatives, and conservation projects at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. Guests enjoyed summer-inspired cuisine by McCalls Catering & Events, alongside expertly paired caviar and wine offerings from in-kind partners The Caviar Co., Fort Point Beer, Freeman Vineyard & Winery, Hotaling & Co., Scotto Cellars, and Sosie Wines. A highlight of the night was a dynamic fashion show featuring floral couture designed by floristry students from City College of San Francisco, with models adorned in blooms mingling with guests and posing beside the artworks that inspired their creations.
