Chinese American International School (CAIS) hosted its annual marquise benefit at the Ritz-Carlton San Francisco on May 17. Supporters, faculty and friends all gathered to celebrate and support the nation’s premiere Mandarin immersion school. In a fun twist, the “Secret Agent Soiree” theme inspired looks for the evening that ranged from classic James Bond elegance, to more lighthearted nods to the groovy style of Austin Powers, International Man of Mystery.
There were many ways to give to CAIS that night, like the exciting live auction, and a round of Fund-A-Need testimonials from students and teachers about the impact and importance of CAIS’s Global Programs in China and Taiwan. The final total for the Fund-A-Need portion was a spectacular $808,000 which will seed an endowment to assure forever that all CAIS students can access these life changing journeys regardless of financial circumstances. As the nation’s first Mandarin immersion Preschool through 8th grade school, CAIS pursues its mission by working to serve as a leader in immersion education.
