On May 9, the Breakthrough T1D (type 1 diabetes) Northern California Chapter held its 10th annual Tee to Table event at The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay. The high-profile fundraising event brought the T1D community together, including families and corporate leaders from around the Bay Area and Northern California. It was a full day of golf and pickleball at the Ritz-Carlton’s spectacular clifftop resort, raising critical funds for type 1 diabetes research. Type 1 diabetes impacts the lives of nearly 9 million children and adults worldwide.
The day began with a golf tournament scramble on the scenic Ocean Course, as well as a lively pickleball round-robin. The evening event featured pop-a-shot and video games, cocktails, a gourmet dinner, a live auction, a Fund-A-Cure donation opportunity, backed by live entertainment from Hip Service. In keeping with the event’s sports theme, the San Francisco 49ers Gold Rush Cheerleaders welcomed and entertained the evening’s lucky guests. In all, the event raised $1.93 million for type 1 diabetes research.
