San Francisco CASA Hosts Uplifting Evening at Fostering Change Gala

On May 2 at the Ritz-Carlton San Francisco, San Francisco CASA (SFCASA)–a nonprofit agency providing support and advocacy for children in foster care–held their annual benefit gala, Fostering Change. Over 500 guests and supporters crowded the ballroom, for an evening that showcased heartwarming stories of youth whose lives have been changed by the organization’s work. In between receiving live updates on the Warriors game, given from the stage by SFCASA’s Board Chair Erwin Mock, the crowd found time to raise a record $1.3 million to support San Francisco’s youth.

The evening kicked off with a tented cocktail reception on the Ritz-Carlton terrace, leading to an elegant sit-down dinner culminating in a bespoke dessert from Ritz-Carlton pastry chef Cristina Olloqui, a Yuzu Mousse on a black sesame cake. Guests also viewed a video produced by BAYCAT, featuring CASA youth talking about their experiences. The night ended on a festive note, with partygoers dancing to DJ Chip. SFCASA’s vision is that every child and youth is in a safe and loving home, and has equitable access to the resources, community support and opportunities they need to thrive.
