The “Littles” Take the Stage at Bay Area Big Brothers & Big Sisters Annual Gala

On March 21 The Big Futures Gala–Big Brothers & Big Sisters of the Bay Area’s premier annual fundraising event–welcomed  nearly 300 guests to support the organization’s program and celebrate the bright futures ahead for Bay Area youth. This year, for the first time, some of the program’s little sibling mentees, or “Littles,” shared their life-changing experiences. Attendees also celebrated the launch of the Big Futures Program, which extends program services to young people past age 18, in the form of college and career resources.

Buffalo Bills star rookie running back Ray Davis, who is himself an alumnus of Big Brothers & Big Sisters of the Bay Area, was a highlight of the evening’s program. Davis shared stories of  how his relationship with his Big Brother helped him find joy and fun during a challenging childhood, an experience that changed the trajectory of his life. The event raised over $700,000, to help to meet the ever-growing need for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area’s mentoring services, which are provided at no cost to children and families.
