On April 3, Community Music Center hosted its annual spring gala, inspired by the theme of Golden Hour. The music education organization’s supporters gathered at the Ritz-Carlton for an unforgettable night of dining, music and a surprise live performance from some of the music world’s brightest lights. For more than 40 years, Community Music Center’s Spring Gala has raised funds to support its extensive tuition-assistance program, the largest of its kind on the West Coast.
The evening commenced with a lavish dinner of heirloom tomato panzanella, crispy salmon with pea tendrils and chocolate huckleberry cake, accompanied by wines from Hafner Vineyard, Miner Family Winery and Devils Canyon Wine. There was a surprise number by local luminaries; composer Jake Heggie, performer Curt Branom and renowned mezzo-soprano Frederica von Stade followed by an exciting live performance from the Grammy-nominated Miró Quartet–a performance the lucky audience members will never forget. Funds raised at this year’s spring gala will support Community Music Center’s mission of music for all.
