Broadway and Hollywood icon Sheryl Lee Ralph headlined the 2025 San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus (SFGMC) Crescendo benefit on April 5. Ralph, along with the night’s other honoree, performer and TransTech founder Angelica Ross, were feted at the Westin St. Francis Hotel in high style. The fabulous night, hosted by drag superstar Nina West, included an auction three exciting live Chorus performances and an awards ceremony for this year’s honored allies and advocates.
The Nancy Pelosi Ally Award was given to Ralph, in recognition of her HIV/AIDS awareness advocacy, which includes founding the D.I.V.A. Foundation in 1990 to fight stigma, raise awareness and support those affected by the disease. Ross received SFGMC’s Trailblazer Award for her human rights advocacy focused on Transgender and racial equality. The Crescendo Gala supports the artistic and outreach initiatives of the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus, including work with the Chan National Queer Arts Center and the youth-focused RHYTHM program.
