On Saturday, March 8, the Breakthrough T1D Northern California Chapter celebrated the 26th anniversary of the Hope Gala at San Francisco City Hall, raising more than $1.4 million for type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. The annual benefit had a festive masquerade theme this year, and brought the T1D community together with business and healthcare leaders from around Northern California.
On the program that evening was the presentation of this year’s Impact Award, which was presented to Dr. Bruce Buckingham, Professor Emeritus-Active of Pediatric Endocrinology at Stanford Medicine Children’s Health. The evening also featured a cocktail soiree with performers from Gregangelo’s Velocity Arts, a gourmet dinner and exciting live auction, and to round out the night, dancing to music from party band Hip Service. As the leading global type 1 diabetes (T1D) research and advocacy organization, Breakthrough T1D helps make everyday life with T1D better, while working toward cures.
