On November 13, close to 300 business leaders, philanthropists and community members–including Mayor-elect Daniel Lurie–helped The Salvation Army kick off its 2024 Red Kettle Campaign at its 21st Annual Holiday Luncheon. The Terra Gallery opened its doors to an impressive turnout of supporters, all united by the common cause of ending homelessness. The inspiring event left attendees feeling hopeful and excited for the holiday season.
The luncheon honored Phin & Carrie Barnes, (The General Partnership and the San Francisco DCCC) Mark Pincus and SOMA West Community Benefit District. Prior to the sit-down luncheon, attendees were treated to a reception including hors d’oeuvres prepared by students of The Salvation Army Culinary Arts Training Academy.
The Way Out is a recovery-based initiative that offers a path to stability and hope for those struggling with addiction and homelessness in our community. The luncheon raised an impressive $800,000, and those donations will play a crucial role in helping The Way Out reach more San Franciscans in need.
